NOTE: The meeting was hosted by Steering Committee member Peggy Garner, at her home. The notes for this meeting were recorded by Carrie Varoquiers, and were reviewed and approved after the meeting by the members of the committee.
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM.
Members Absent: Alison Werger
Meredith reviewed the benefits provided by NPC through their fiscal sponsorship agreement with our group. A detailed list of services can be found on the NPC website. We pay 5% of our funds raised to NPC for their services.
Just out of curiosity, Barbara will research the city's insurance in case a dog fight breaks out.
Everyone stated their case for or against going forward with the fence project*. A vote was taken.
The fence project passed by a majority vote.
* The "fence project" entails adding chain link fence and entry gates to complete the enclosure of the park. There will be both a pedestrian gate and a truck gate.
Carrie, Marilyn and Howie resigned from the Steering Committee.
The remaining members agreed that they would continue on for another 2 year term and began to discuss the Committee structure, including terms (2 years) and number of members (9).
PROPOSED CRITERIA FOR DISMISSAL FROM STEERING COM MITTEE AND ‘DESIGNATED COMMITTEE SEATS’ WAS ALSO DISCUSSED AND LEFT TO FUTURE MEETING FOR FINAL RESOLUTION.
It was agreed that one seat should always be reserved for a dog walker. How committee members are selected was not agreed upon due to time constraints.
