Hello Friends of Upper Douglass!
For some time now, there has been discussion at the park on the subject of a group outing to see the latest version of BEACH BLANKET BABYLON – starring our friend and Upper Douglass regular (with CODY), CURT BRANOM. Aside from the fact that it’s a great show to take in every so often, Curt has helped us to reserve some very special top notch seating for the 9:30pm show on Friday night, the 20th of March.
See below for full details on the event. Print out this page and keep it handy. Maybe tape it to your calendar! But here is the scoop.
The group of 20 seats we have reserved are simply the best seats in the house. These are called the DIRECTORS RESERVE(D) SEATS. They are not even available to the public via box office or website sale. They are comfortable cabaret-style seats at small tables just a few feet away from the edge of the stage. From these seats, you hear the actual voices of the performers, not just the audio system. Lots of interaction with the performers. Curt will wink at us as he sings! Get a sitter for your doggie, and come join us for a fun night in North Beach. It’s one of the things that makes San Francisco the best city in the nation.

Our own CURT BRANOM has been a long term multiple-role performing headliner at Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon, the longest running musical revue in theatre history. This zany musical spoof of pop culture with extravagant costumes and outrageously huge hats is now in its 34th year of sold-out performances! Beach Blanket Babylon is an internationally acclaimed San Francisco institution. It’s noted for its continually evolving hilarious parodies of current events and popular icons as today’s headlines unfold.
Beach Blanket Babylon is located at Club Fugazi in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach district. Address: 678 Beach Blanket Babylon Boulevard (Green Street), S.F. NOTE: With Curt’s help, we’ve reserved a group of 20 of the best seats in the house. These are the Director’s Reserve seats – not available for public sale – at comfortable Cabaret Style tables – close to the stage (but not TOO close).
